La videocamera Vivotek IP7138 è pensata per l'utilizzo professionale. Dispone di un sensore da 1,3 megapixel CMOS ed è adatta ad applicazioni di sorveglianza e monitoraggio remoto. Ha una superiore qualità d'immagine ed il campo d'impiego comprende aeroporti, industri, negozi al dettaglio, scuole, uffici e banche. Il processore interno permette di generare uno stream doppio con differenti risoluzioni e qualità video per PC (MPEG-4 o MJPEG) o per cellulare 3G (MPEG-4).
Il 3GPP permette il monitoraggio di ambienti per mezzo di cellulari 3G. La videocamera dispone di uno slot Compact Flash. Sulla memoria sono immagazzinabili localmente video e fotografie. Dispone di un'interfaccia I/O per sensori ed allarmi. E' conforme 802.3af ed integra uno splitter che premette l'alimentazione remota. I video possono avere risoluzioni massime di 1280 x1024 pixel con 7,5 fps. In alternativa si possono usare gli 800 x 600 7,5fps e 640 x 480 fps. Ottica 4mm f2.0 con attacco standard CS. Collegamento RJ-45 10/100Mbps.
